This page lists all keyboard shortcuts available in Retro Asset Studio.

These shortcuts are active when the Image Editor tab is open in the Character Designer, Asset Generator, or Spritesheet Editor.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Ctrl+Z |
Undo the last edit |
Ctrl+Shift+Z |
Redo the last undone edit |
Ctrl+Y |

Ctrl+Left |

Ctrl+Right |
Move all pixels one step right |

The move shortcuts match the Image > Move Pixels menu commands. Pixels pushed off the edge are lost, and the exposed row or column is filled with the transparent color (or the first palette color). See Image menu. Mirror, Scale Image, and Resize Canvas have no shortcut; use the Image menu.
Pose Editor¶
These shortcuts are active when manipulating the skeleton on the Pose Editor canvas.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Ctrl + Drag |
Free-move mode: drag a joint without bone-length constraints (allows changing bone length) |

The following shortcuts are shown in the Edit menu. They dispatch keyboard events and work when the corresponding input or tool is focused.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Ctrl+Z |
Undo |
Ctrl+Shift+Z |

Palette Interactions¶
These are mouse-based interactions in the palette sidebar that function like shortcuts:
| Interaction | Action |
|---|---|
| Click swatch | Select the color as the active drawing color |
| Double-click swatch | Open the color picker to change that color globally |
| Shift+click swatch | Merge the clicked color into the currently selected color |
Spritesheet Editor Interactions¶
| Interaction | Action |
|---|---|
| Drag a frame thumbnail onto another | Swap the two frames' positions |
| Hover a frame, click the trash icon | Delete the frame (no undo) |
Note
Retro Asset Studio currently relies primarily on toolbar buttons for tool selection and view changes. Most actions are accessible through the graphical interface rather than keyboard shortcuts. More shortcuts are planned; suggestions are welcome in the feedback repository.
